This page explains how players of Lantern Isles: Word Puzzle by ONI Games (package name com.onigames.lanternisles) can delete their data. The game has no ONI Games accounts. Your progress is on your device (and, if you use it, in your Google Play Games cloud save); the optional weekly league and clubs keep a small record on our game server.
Quick answer. Uninstall the game (or clear its storage) to delete your progress on the device, delete the cloud save in Google Play Games if you used it, and email us your league nickname to have your league and club record deleted from our server.
1. Delete game progress on your device
- Open Android Settings, then Apps, then Lantern Isles: Word Puzzle.
- Tap Storage, then Clear storage (or Clear data). Uninstalling the game has the same effect.
Deleted immediately: level and island progress, coins, boosters, found words, your personal dictionary, stars and the village, Lantern Pass progress, daily puzzles, achievements, purchases state and settings stored on the device.
2. Delete your cloud save
Only needed if you were signed in to Google Play Games. The copy of your progress is stored by Google in your Google account.
- Open the Google Play Games settings (in the Google Play Games app, or in the Google Play Store under your profile).
- Choose Delete Play Games account & data, then under Delete individual game data select Lantern Isles: Word Puzzle and confirm.
3. Delete your league and club record
If you played the weekly league or joined a club, our game server keeps your random player number, generated nickname, league points and tier, and club membership. Send an email to grega.xp@gmail.com with the subject Lantern Isles data deletion and the nickname shown in the league. We delete the record within 30 days and confirm by email. We can also help with the steps above.
4. Data that is kept
- Purchase records are kept by Google Play for billing, tax and refund purposes. They are managed in your Google account (order history) and are not deleted by the steps above.
- Advertising data (such as the advertising ID and ad interactions) is handled by Google AdMob. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings > Google > Ads. Google keeps such data according to its retention policy.
- Analytics and crash reports (Google Firebase) are not linked to your name or Google account and are kept by Google according to the same retention policy.
