This Privacy Policy explains how ONI Games (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the mobile game ONI Snakes (package name com.onigames.onisnakes), distributed through Google Play for Android devices (the “Game”).
By installing or playing the Game you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the Game.
In short. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number or a password. The Game can be played offline against computer-controlled snakes. To take part in the global leaderboards, the Game signs in anonymously to Unity’s game services and sends your nickname and scores there when a connection is available. When you choose an online match, a multiplayer service relays your nickname and your snake’s position to the other players in the same match, and it sees your IP address. Advertising and optional purchases are handled by Google.
1. Information we do not collect
We want to be specific about this, because it covers most of what people worry about. The Game does not request, collect, store or transmit any of the following:
- Your name, email address, postal address or telephone number
- Account credentials or passwords
- Precise or approximate geographic location from your device’s location services
- Your contacts, calendar, call logs or SMS messages
- Photos, videos, microphone audio or camera input
- Health, biometric or financial account information
The Game requests no runtime permissions of this kind, and we maintain no database in which such information could be stored. There is no chat, no voice communication and no way for players to send each other text or media.
2. Information stored on your device
Your progress is saved locally on your device using the standard Android preferences storage. This includes the nickname you type, your coins and gems, best score, rank and experience, unlocked and selected snake skins and upgrades, owned boosters, daily quest progress, statistics such as games played, whether you bought the No Ads option, and settings such as sound and music.
This data is not transmitted to us. Uninstalling the Game or clearing its storage deletes it permanently, and it cannot be recovered by us.
3. Playing online
Offline game modes run on your device against computer-controlled snakes. The only thing they report is the result used by the leaderboards (see section 4), and only when a connection is available.
When you start an online match, the Game connects to Photon Fusion, a real-time multiplayer service operated by Exit Games GmbH (Germany). Photon relays game data between the players in your match. In this process it necessarily handles:
- your device’s IP address and connection metadata (latency, region, session identifier),
- the nickname you chose, which is shown to the other players in the match,
- your snake’s position, size, score and selected skin while the match lasts.
Match data exists only for the duration of the match and is not stored by us afterwards. Because your nickname is visible to strangers, please do not use your real name or any other detail that identifies you.
4. Leaderboards and your player profile
The Game has global leaderboards: a monthly season ranked by points earned in matches, and an all-time board of best scores. To keep them, the Game signs in anonymously to Unity Gaming Services (Unity Technologies) when it starts and a connection is available. This creates a random player identifier. It is not linked to your Google account, your email address or your phone.
For each finished match the Game sends your season points and, if you beat it, your best score. The leaderboards store your player identifier, the nickname you chose and those scores, and show your nickname and scores to other players. If you finish a season high enough to win a reward, the Game reads your final place once to pay it. Matches played without a connection are counted when the Game is next online.
Uninstalling the Game or clearing its storage removes the identifier from your device, and a new one is created next time. To delete the profile and its leaderboard entries on the server, see Delete your data. Because your nickname is visible to other players, please do not use your real name.
5. Information collected by third-party services
The Game integrates the services below. They collect technical information directly, according to their own privacy policies, and we do not receive the raw data they gather.
| Service | Purpose | Typical data collected |
|---|---|---|
| Photon Fusion (Exit Games GmbH) | Runs the online multiplayer matches | IP address, connection metadata, session identifier, nickname, in-match game state |
| Unity Gaming Services - Authentication and Leaderboards (Unity Technologies) | Anonymous sign-in and the global leaderboards | Player identifier, nickname, season points and best score, IP address, device model and operating system version |
| Google AdMob | Displays interstitial and rewarded video advertisements | Advertising identifier, IP address, device model and operating system version, coarse region derived from IP, ad impressions and interactions |
| Google User Messaging Platform | Presents the privacy and consent form required in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and records your choice | Consent status, device identifier, IP address |
| Google Play Billing | Processes optional in-app purchases | Purchase token, order identifier, product identifier, purchase status |
6. Your choices and controls
- Play offline. Every single-player mode works without a network connection; simply do not start an online match.
- Your nickname. You can change it at any time in the Game, and you are free to use any pseudonym.
- Advertising identifier. You can reset or delete it in Settings > Google > Ads on your device.
- Consent. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland you can change your advertising consent choice at any time from the privacy option in the Game’s settings.
- Everything at once. Uninstalling the Game or clearing its storage removes the local data and the anonymous player identifier.
7. Legal bases and your rights
Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on your consent for personalised advertising, and on our legitimate interest in providing a working online game for the connection data that multiplayer requires. You have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data, to object to processing, and to complain to your local supervisory authority. Because we do not hold accounts, the fastest route for most requests is the deletion page linked above; for anything else, write to us at the address in section 14.
8. Children
The Game is directed at players aged 13 and over and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the Game, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Data retention
Local data stays on your device until you delete it. Match data is discarded when the match ends. The leaderboard profile (identifier, nickname, scores) is kept while the Game is in service or until you ask us to delete it; each monthly season is archived when it ends so that season rewards can be paid. Advertising and purchase data are retained by Google according to its own policies.
10. International transfers
Photon operates servers in several regions; by default the Game connects to servers in the European Union. Google and Unity process data in the United States and other countries. Both rely on standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards for transfers outside the European Economic Area.
11. Security
Connections to the multiplayer service and to Google services use encrypted transport. No method of transmission is completely secure, but the Game stores no credentials and holds no sensitive personal data.

13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the Game changes. The date at the top of the page always shows the current version, and significant changes will be announced on the Game’s Google Play listing.
