But there is something you should know first: almost all of them have ads. In our study of the top 100 block puzzles, 98 carried the Contains ads label. So this list is about finding the best games and the least annoying way to play them.

Block Crush!
A relaxing classic with more than 50 million installs and nothing to buy at all: the only business model is ads, which airplane mode takes care of.

Easybrain's 9x9 block puzzle, where clearing 3x3 squares counts too. More than 100 million installs, rated 4.63, and a single in-app item at $14.99.
Woodoku
The wood-styled Sudoku block puzzle from Tripledot: rows, columns and 3x3 squares all clear. Hugely popular, with a lower rating (4.16) than Blockudoku.
Playdoku
Block puzzles with Sudoku mechanics and blast effects, rated 4.50.

- 1010!, the 10x10 classic from 2014 that made the format famous, still updated in 2026.
- X2 Blocks merges numbered blocks instead of clearing lines, rated 4.81.
