Here are the best idle games for Android that play without an internet connection, picked from the idle games Google itself tags as Offline on their store pages.

How we picked

We started from our own dataset of 847 idle games on Google Play (see our study) and kept the ones Google tags as Offline. Then we looked for games with a rating of 4.4 or more from thousands of players, an update in the last year, and something that sets them apart. Prices, ads and ratings are from the US store on September 25, 2026. We make idle games ourselves; ours are listed separately at the end.

If you want no ads at all and do not mind paying a couple of dollars once, two classics are on Google Play: A Dark Room ($1.99), which its developer describes as playable without Wi-Fi, and Universal Paperclips ($1.99), where you play an AI that only wants to make paperclips. Both have a real ending.

FAQ

Do idle games work without internet?

Most single-player idle games do. Offline earnings are calculated from your phone's clock, so they keep adding up with or without a connection. Online hero collectors are the exception.

Will I see ads when playing offline?

Usually not. Ads need a connection to load, so offline you normally see none. Rewarded bonuses that need a video are unavailable too.

Which offline idle game is best for a long flight?
