Endless Towers in Idle Games: How They Work and How to Climb
Why almost every idle RPG has a tower, how floors, attempts and weekly rankings work, and how to climb higher, with the real rules of the towers in two idle RPGs we made.
An endless tower is a side mode in many idle RPGs: a stack of floors, each harder than the last, that you climb for rewards. Towers test your team's peak strength, give you something to push when the main stages slow down, and often come with a weekly ranking against other players.
How to climb higher: climb when your team is at its strongest (just before a rebirth, not just after), use every daily attempt, and save burst skills for the floors that stop you.
Why idle games have towers
- A second goal. When the main stages hit a wall, the tower gives your upgrades somewhere else to show.
- A test of peak power. Towers usually scale with your best, so they measure how strong your team can get, not how far you have walked.
- Competition. Weekly tower rankings let you compare yourself with other players without real PvP.
- Regular rewards. Floor milestones pay currency and items every week or season.
Two real towers
Our two idle RPGs have towers with very different rules:
| Neon Tower (Idle Ronin) | Tower of Infinity (Idle Summoner) | |
|---|---|---|
| Unlocks | at stage 15 | with each invasion region |
| Floors | 300 | as many as you can break |
| Attempts | wins are free; 5 tickets a day for losses | 60 seconds per climb |
| Resets | every week, Monday to Sunday | your best floor is saved |
| Rewards | diamonds and Unit Cores at floor milestones | gold and souls for every floor |
| Ranking | weekly leaderboard on Google Play Games | personal best |
The Neon Tower
Idle Ronin's tower is a 300-floor climb that restarts every week. Winning a floor is free and moves you up; only a lost fight uses one of your 5 daily tickets. Every third floor is one stage harder, and floor rewards pay out as you reach them: from 20 diamonds at floor 5 up to 1,800 diamonds and 60 Unit Cores at floor 300. At the end of the week, the weekly ranking pays everyone on floor 5 or higher, from 50 diamonds up to 1,000 diamonds and 30 Unit Cores for first place.
The Tower of Infinity
In Idle Summoner, clearing a region of the invasion map opens its Tower of Infinity. You get 60 seconds to break as many floors as you can, earning gold and souls for each one, and your best floor is saved. The stronger legion you build after every rebirth pushes it higher.
How to climb any idle tower higher
- Climb at your peak. In Idle Ronin, tower floors scale with your best stage ever, or your squad's power if that is higher. Right after a rebirth your units are weak but your best stage is not, so climb before you rebirth, not after.
- Use every daily attempt. Tickets or tries usually refill daily and do not carry over.
- Save your burst skills for the floor that stops you.
- Check your team for the tower. Some modes reward different stats than the main stages, like pure speed in a timed climb.
- Check the ranking before the week ends. In Idle Ronin, the game saves your rank when you open the RANKING tab; open it after your last climb of the week.
Towers and rankings
Weekly tower rankings work like leagues: a fresh start every week, rewards by rank, and a reason to push once more before Sunday night. Our guide to leagues and leaderboards explains how these rankings are built and why many games split players into small groups.
FAQ
What is the tower mode in idle games?
An endless series of floors, each harder than the last, that you climb for rewards. Many towers reset every week and rank players by how high they got.
When should I climb the tower?
When your team is at its strongest, usually just before a rebirth, and every day to use your attempts.
Do tower rewards reset?
In weekly towers like Idle Ronin's Neon Tower, yes: the climb and its floor rewards start again every week, so you can earn them again.
