Idle Game Tips: 21 Ways to Progress Faster Without Playing Longer

Twenty-one tips that work in almost every idle game, from a studio that makes them: how to spend, when to prestige, how to use offline time and rewarded videos, and the mistakes that cost the most.

The fastest way through an idle game is not playing more but deciding better: spend where the return is highest, collect offline time at the cap, reset at the right moment and use every free boost. These 21 tips work in almost any idle game, and we explain why, with numbers from the games we make.

Spending

1. Buy the upgrade with the best gain per coin, not the cheapest. Many games show what the next level adds. Divide by the price and compare.
2. Save for milestones. A few levels that reach a x2 milestone beat many levels anywhere else. In Idle AI Factory, floors double their production at levels 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100.
3. Unlock new generators early. A new building, unit or floor usually adds more than another level of an old one.
4. Use bulk buy. Buy x10 or MAX when you know what you want; it saves taps and time.
5. Do not hoard. Idle income is exponential, so gold spent now earns more than gold kept for later, unless you are saving for a specific milestone.

Offline time

2. Spend before you close the game. Offline earnings use your income rate when you leave.
3. Upgrade offline earnings early if they start low. A game that pays 10% for 2 hours rewards offline upgrades more than anything else.
4. Use x2 offers after long breaks, when the payout is biggest.

Prestige

1. Do your first prestige as soon as it unlocks. Any permanent bonus is better than none.
2. Reset when progress stalls, not when it slows. If you still clear stages, keep going.
3. Look for jumps in the reward formula. Idle Ronin's rebirth reward triples between stage 200 and 250. See prestige, rebirth and ascension.
4. Plan what you will buy with the prestige currency. The currency is only half the value.

Free boosts

1. Claim every free reward. Daily logins, timed chests, quests and free pass tiers add up to a lot.
2. Use rewarded videos where they matter. Double offline income and big boosts are worth it; tiny rewards are not worth your time.
3. Do the daily modes. Dungeon keys and tower attempts refill every day and are lost if unused.

Idle RPGs

1. Fill every team slot. Each fighter adds damage, even weak ones.
2. Save burst skills for bosses. Bosses have the most health and a timer; in Idle Ronin they have 6 to 10 times the health of normal enemies.
3. Farm when you hit a boss wall, then upgrade and try again. Losing a boss costs nothing in most idle RPGs.

Protect your progress

• Leaving the game closed for days when the cap is 8 hours.
• Spreading gold thinly instead of reaching milestones.
