Lantern Isles: Word Puzzle takes Lumi the firefly across 15 islands that have lost their light. Every level you solve lights more of an island, and its last level, the guardian, wakes the whole island up. Here is the whole journey, island by island.

The first sea: 15 islands, 362 levels

The first island has 10 levels, every island after it has 2 more, and Starlight Summit has 40.

A bar at the top of the level shows how far you are through the current island, and the World Map shows every island on the way.

Lumi's story

Every island starts asleep, and Lumi tells you what to do: find words to light its lanterns one by one. Each time you restore an island, Lumi finds out where the lost light went next. It shines from the lighthouse of Firefly Harbor up the river to Bamboo Brook, drifts down to the lagoon, rises from the corals to the blossoms and follows the windmills. The wind carries it north into the ice, the crystals keep a sweet piece of it, and that piece floats up into the sky, falls into the desert and seeps down to the mushrooms. The volcano of Ember Isle warms it instead of putting it out, and it travels through Maple Valley and the Moonlit Reef to Starlight Summit, where Lumi lights the Great Lantern.

Guardians: the last level of every island

The last level of every island is its guardian: a bigger puzzle with double rewards.

Solving a guardian wakes the whole island, plays the next part of Lumi's story and adds the island's night picture to the Wallpapers tab of your Collection, ready to save to your phone or share.

Special levels

From level 12, every third level is special. A new kind joins at levels 12, 20, 30 and 45, and the kinds take turns, so two special levels in a row are never the same. The first time you meet a kind, the game explains it.

After Starlight Summit: a new sea

When the Great Lantern is lit, a new sea opens with the same 15 islands and 40 levels on each: 600 levels per sea. The journey has no end. Every language has its own levels, 5,000 of them in English, and when you have played them all the game carries on with the harder half of the list, in a new order every round.

Day and night

The islands follow your phone's clock: morning from 6 a.m., day from 10 a.m., sunset from 5 p.m. and night from 8 p.m. Each island also has its own song in six layers. Every word you find brings in the next layer, and the whole song plays when the level is solved.

Lumi's village

Lumi's home village is waiting to be rebuilt. You earn stars as you play: 1 per level, 3 per guardian and 2 per Daily Challenge. Open the village from the World Map and build its eight places in order. Each place has three looks to choose from, and changing the look later is free.

The whole village costs 250 stars, and the 362 levels of the first sea alone give 392, so you can finish it before you reach Starlight Summit.

Islands FAQ

How many levels does Lantern Isles have?

The journey has no end. The first sea has 362 levels on 15 islands and every later sea has 600. English has 5,000 levels of its own before the game starts mixing the harder half again.
