Diamonds are the premium currency of Idle Restaurant: Miami, and you can earn plenty without paying. The biggest free sources are stars (350 diamonds per restaurant), level milestones on every kitchen, the elevator and the restaurant, recipe pages, the Manager Album, the food critic, celebrities and the weekly league. Diamonds from building
- Level milestones: every kitchen, the elevator and the restaurant pay 2, 2, 4, 4 and 8 diamonds at levels 10, 25, 50, 100 and 200, 20 per part. A restaurant with 20 floors has 22 parts, so up to 440 diamonds, twice that in Lobster Club, and the milestones pay again after every renovation.
- Stars: 50, 100 and 200 diamonds when a restaurant reaches 10, 15 and 20 floors.
- Recipe pages: 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 for learning all four recipes of Ocean Pizza, Sushi Club, Tiki Bar, Cafe Cubano and Lobster Club.
- Player levels: every level-up pays 5 diamonds plus the new level.
- Manager Album: 20 to 60 diamonds for each full row of Junior, Senior and Expert.
Every day and every week
- Daily Reward: 5 diamonds on day 2, 15 on day 6 and 40 on day 7, with cash and a boost on the other days.
- Daily Quests: 2 diamonds per quest, three quests a day, plus weekly chests with 5, 15 and 30 diamonds at 5, 10 and 15 quests.
- Cafe Cubano dominoes: once a day, 10 diamonds for a match.
- Welcome back: after a day or more away, 10 diamonds per day, up to 5 days, and a free boost.
Visitors and road trips
- Golden car: about one car in seven; a video pays 20 diamonds.
- Food Critic (player level 9): serve the dishes the critic asks for within 60 seconds for 20 diamonds and 30 minutes of income.
- Celebrity Visits (level 10): 15 diamonds for a new celebrity, 5 for a repeat visit, and 100 once the autograph album of six is full.
- Lobster Club VIP crown: one tip in four adds 3 diamonds.
- Deliveries: 4, 8, 15 or 25 diamonds for van missions of 15, 30, 60 or 120 minutes.
Competitions and the pass
- Weekly League (level 6): the top 15 of 30 win diamonds. 1st gets 150, 2nd 100, 3rd 75, 4th and 5th 50, 6th to 10th 25 and 11th to 15th 10, times 1.5 in the Silver, 2 in the Gold and 3 in the Diamond League.

Instant cash is the strongest deal for a growing restaurant: 250 diamonds buy 120 hours of offline income at once. A 12-hour boost is worth most right before a long break, because a boost that is still running also multiplies your offline earnings. Floors and construction breaks are best paid with diamonds only when the wait would be long.
Diamonds you can buy
The shop also sells diamond packs from 250 to 22,000 diamonds, and from player level 5 the Piggy Bank fills with diamonds as you play, up to 1,200, which a purchase can break open from 400 on. None of it is needed to enjoy the game.

Are diamonds shared between restaurants?
