Renovation is the prestige of Idle Restaurant: Miami: a restaurant starts again with double income for good and pays neon tokens for Empire HQ. When it pays off, exactly what resets and what stays, the token formula, and all six Empire HQ upgrades with their prices.
Renovation is the prestige system of Idle Restaurant: Miami. When a restaurant reaches 10 floors, you can renovate it: its floors and levels start again, its income is doubled for good, and you get neon tokens to spend in Empire HQ on upgrades for all your restaurants. The first renovation of each restaurant is almost always worth it; after that, renovate whenever your climb slows down and the rebuild would be quick.

When you can renovate
The Renovate button appears at player level 7. A restaurant can be renovated at 10 floors the first time, at 15 floors the second time and at 20 floors every time after that. Each of your five restaurants is renovated on its own; the Restaurant Rush restaurant cannot be renovated.

Kitchen managers leave their floors, because the floors are gone, so assign them again as you build. Stars and recipes are tied to your floor record, so you keep them and their bonuses, but their diamonds are paid only once.
Level milestones pay again, though: every kitchen, the elevator and the restaurant give 2, 2, 4, 4 and 8 diamonds at levels 10, 25, 50, 100 and 200 each time you pass them.
What a renovation gives
- x2 income for good in that restaurant. Renovations stack: two make x4, three make x8.
- Neon tokens: 10 times the restaurant's number times the renovation count.
- 200 XP for your player level.

When a renovation pays off
Losing 10 floors sounds like a lot, but the rebuild is fast: every floor costs what it cost before, while your income is doubled and your stars and recipes are already in place. A good rule is to renovate as soon as you reach the required height and the next floor would take hours to afford.
Newer restaurants pay more tokens, but older ones rebuild faster. A practical order is to renovate each restaurant when it reaches its required height, starting with the one you are playing. The general idea behind resets like this is in our guide to prestige, rebirth and ascension.
Empire HQ
Empire HQ is the tower in the bottom-left corner of the World Map. It shows up at player level 8, or earlier once you have tokens. It sells six upgrades that work in every restaurant, and each level costs 35% more than the last: 10, 14, 18, 25, 33, 45, 61, 82, 110 and 149 tokens.

Which Empire HQ upgrades to buy first
- Neon Signs: +10% income in every restaurant, online and offline, and its first levels are cheap.
- Night Shift if you are away for long stretches: 8 levels turn the 12-hour offline limit into 20 hours (32 in Sushi Club).
- Room Service for bigger offline payouts.
- VIP Lounge if you watch video boosts: 6 levels add 2 hours to every one.
- Talent Agency and Valet Parking after that.
Trophies: the other permanent bonus

FAQ
Do I lose my managers when I renovate?
No. Managers, their levels and your hire prices stay. Kitchen managers only need to be assigned to the new floors.
Is there a limit to renovations?
No. From the third renovation on, each one needs 20 floors and doubles the income again.
Where do neon tokens come from?
From renovations and from the Miami Pass, which has tokens on both its free and premium tracks. They are spent in Empire HQ.
