Idle Ronin Item Shop Guide: All 29 Items, Rerolls and Best Buys
All 29 items of the Idle Ronin item shop with prices, effects and the odds of seeing each one on a shelf, how the 5-hour refresh, rerolls and the padlock work, how to use the boss consumables, and which items are the best buys for your diamonds.
The item shop in Idle Ronin: Cyber RPG sells things diamonds cannot buy anywhere else: Gold Equipment, shards, Energy Cells, Blank Chips, boss consumables and more. It opens after your second Rebirth, and its six cards change every five hours. This guide lists all 29 items with their prices and how often they appear, and picks the best buys.
We make Idle Ronin, so the prices and odds below come straight from the shop's code.
How the item shop works
- It unlocks after 2 Rebirths. Rebirth opens at stage 50, and Instant Rebirths count.
- The shelf holds six cards, never two of the same item.
- A new shelf arrives every 5 hours. The timer under the cards shows when.
- Each card shows a quantity, and its price is the item price times that quantity.
- Dungeon Keys are limited to 2 a day.
Rerolls and the padlock
Reroll swaps the shelf at once. The first reroll in each 5-hour window is free for a video; after that a reroll costs 20, then 40, then 80, then 160 diamonds each. The price drops back with the next shelf, and a paid reroll does not delay the free refresh.
The padlock on a card keeps that card through rerolls. Only one card can be locked: locking another releases the first, and a new shelf clears the lock. Lock the best card on the shelf, then reroll the other five in search of a second one.
How often each item appears
Each card is drawn from seven groups with fixed weights, and a shelf never repeats an item. We ran the shop's code for 400,000 shelves to get the odds for a whole shelf of six cards:
| Item | Chance per shelf |
|---|---|
| Refine Crystals | 44% |
| Blue Equipment | 34% |
| Each of the 10 unit items: Overclock Chip, Protocol Core, Nano Capsule, Energy Cell and the six set chips | 34% |
| Blank Chip and Adaptive Core | 34% each |
| Purple Equipment | 15%, about 1 shelf in 7 |
| Each of the 13 account items: shards, capsules, keys and the rest | 7%, about 1 shelf in 14 |
| Gold Equipment | 4%, about 1 shelf in 25 |
With a new shelf every five hours, a Gold Equipment card turns up about once every five days from free refreshes alone. Rerolls raise that, at a price.

Unit items
| Item | What it does | Price each | Per card |
|---|---|---|---|
| Energy Cell | +4 stacks (copies) for one unit | 25 | 1 to 4 |
| Nano Capsule | +5 Base Level for one unit, kept through Rebirth | 50 | 1 to 5 |
| Overclock Chip | +1 to a unit's Protocol passive cap, up to 999 | 15 | 1 to 7 |
| Protocol Core | +5 to a unit's Protocol passive cap | 80 | 1 to 2 |
| Street Chip, Bio Chip, Worker Board | +0.1 stack multiplier for a unit of that set | 60 | 1 to 3 |
| Hunter Core, Titan Cell | +0.1 stack multiplier for a unit of that set | 75 | 1 to 3 |
| Binary Board | +0.1 stack multiplier for Null or One | 90 | 1 to 3 |
| Blank Chip | +0.1 stack multiplier for any unit | 110 | 1 to 2 |
| Adaptive Core | +0.05 stack multiplier for any unit | 160 | 1 to 2 |
The stack multiplier is what each extra copy of a unit adds: 0.7x ATK normally and 1x for the Binary Set. A chip raises it for the unit you use it on, so it pays most on units with many copies.

The best buys
- Energy Cells. 25 diamonds for 4 copies of the unit you choose. Every copy adds 0.7x ATK to that unit, so an Energy Cell on one of your six active units is the cheapest damage in the game.
- Gold and Purple Shards. 10 Gold Shards cost 2,400 diamonds against 2,550 for the Gold card, and 8 Purple Shards cost 880 against 1,000. Buy them whenever they show up if you are saving for a piece.
- Refine Catalysts. 24 diamonds per Refine Crystal, the cheapest crystals in the game: they cost 30 each on single cards and 60 in BOOSTS & PACKS.
- Time Dilators and Overdrive Cells for a boss you cannot beat. Save them for the bosses of stages ending in 4 or 9, which have more health.
- Blank Chips for main units with many copies. They give twice the bonus of an Adaptive Core for less, so skip the Adaptive Core.
- Gold Equipment once you can afford it: with the refining trick from our equipment guide, a level 1 Gold piece jumps straight to the level of your best craft.
What to skip:
- Overclock Chips and Protocol Cores, until one of your units has its Protocol passive at the cap of 255 (99 for Worker Protocol). Before that they change nothing.
- Rebirth Catalysts and Nano Capsules, unless diamonds are piling up. Base Levels only set where a unit starts after Rebirth, and early levels are cheap anyway.
- Dungeon Keys, if diamonds are what you want: they add runs in the Gold Vault and the Core Factory, never in the Crystal Mine.
How to use the boss consumables
Overdrive Cells and Time Dilators sit as two keys under the boss clock during a boss fight, as long as you own some. An Overdrive Cell doubles your damage until that attempt ends, win or lose. Each Time Dilator adds 15 seconds to the running timer, and you can use several in one fight.
Idle Ronin item shop FAQ
When does the item shop unlock?
After your second Rebirth. Instant Rebirths count, so once you reach stage 50, two of them for 150 diamonds each open the shop without starting over.
How often does the item shop refresh?
Every 5 hours. You can also reroll: once for free with a video in each window, then for 20, 40, 80 and 160 diamonds.
How do I get Gold Equipment?
From the Gold Equipment card, about 1 shelf in 25; from 10 Gold Shards; or from the Neon Halloween trade shop, which gives a level 10 Gold piece once.
Which is better, a Blank Chip or an Adaptive Core?
The Blank Chip: +0.1 for 110 diamonds, against +0.05 for 160.
