Idle Ronin Tier List 2026: All 23 Cyborg Units Ranked
Which Idle Ronin units are worth building around? All 23 cyborgs ranked from S to C using the game's own numbers: what each skill adds to your damage, which sets they complete and when they join the Unit Core pool.
The strongest units in Idle Ronin: Cyber RPG are K-9 Sentinel, Lycan, Colossus, Oni Prime and Null, with the rare Ghost Unit on top once you find it. But there is a catch that most tier lists miss: all 23 cyborgs start with the same base ATK and the same upgrade costs. What separates them is the set they complete and the skills they bring, so a full set of lower-tier units can still beat a mixed team of top picks.
We make Idle Ronin, so this ranking is built from the game code: skill values, set multipliers and the Unit Core tables. Where we estimate damage, we say how.
Idle Ronin tier list
Tiers rank what a unit adds on top of its base ATK: its damage skill, its passives and the set it belongs to. S-tier units are the ones to build a team around, C-tier units are support picks you still want for their set.
| Tier | Unit | Set | Best at | Why |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | K-9 Sentinel | Street | All-round damage | Heavy Hit is the best all-round active: about +80% damage at skill level 1. Boss Killer and Lucky Seven on top. |
| S | Lycan | Hunter | Bosses | Claw Strike doubles against bosses (about +89% at level 1, +342% at 10), plus Boss Killer and First Strike. |
| S | Colossus | Titan | Stage waves | Ground Slam doubles against normal enemies (about +89% at level 1, +427% at 10), plus Monster Killer. |
| S | Oni Prime | Hunter | Hunter teams | Sonic Blast raises the whole Hunter Unit Set's ATK; Weak Spot and Fast Reflex help every hit. |
| S | Null | Binary | Late game | Death Code gives +25% ATK and +20% per level, the fastest-growing ATK passive. Binary copies stack at 1x instead of 0.7x. |
| S | Ghost Unit | Street | Late game, rare | The fifth Street unit and the only way to the x16 set bonus. Street Network adds ATK to every Street unit. |
| A | Neko-X | Street | Attack speed | Rapid Attack doubles attack speed for 10 attacks, about +62% damage; Fast Reflex adds speed all the time. |
| A | Pando | Bio | Early game | Power Fist (+38% at level 1, +139% at 10) and two passives that cut level-up costs. |
| A | Jaws | Hunter | Stage waves | Powersurge, Monster Killer and Long Service for more Rebirth Tokens. |
| A | Raptor | Hunter | Crits | Target Lock adds +30% crit chance and +100% crit damage for 10 seconds; Lucky Seven. |
| A | Grizzly-X | Titan | Crits | Huge Impact, Second Hand and Weak Spot, all on a Hunter Protocol unit. |
| B | Stallion | Bio | Skill tempo | Hyperdrive makes your other skills recharge twice as fast for 15 seconds. |
| B | Byte | Street | Auto play | Automatron casts your active skills and levels your units every second for 20 seconds. |
| B | Watchtower | Titan | Offline gold | Offline Cable adds 15% offline gold per level; Steal Gold. |
| B | One | Binary | Rebirth | Completes the Binary Set with Null; Life Code adds 12% Rebirth Tokens per level. |
| B | Bastion | Bio | Gold and rebirth | Midas Touch, Fortune and Long Service. |
| B | Hopper V | Bio | Gold | Easter Egg doubles all gold for 20 seconds. |
| C | Echo | Street | Treasure Chests | Tracking and Treasure Hunter. Weak alone, but a Street Unit Set piece. |
| C | Leviathan | Titan | Treasure Chests | Chest Caller and Treasure Hunter; a Titan Set piece. |
| C | Forge | Worker | Crafting | Smelting makes a Refine Stone; Offline Cable. |
| C | Hauler | Worker | Side-Jobs | Double Salary doubles the next Side-Job reward. |
| C | Rivet | Worker | Equipment | Enhanced Weapons and faster crafting. |
| C | Welder | Worker | Cooldowns | Cheat Code and Assembly Line. |
The Worker Set sits at the bottom for damage because its four units have Worker Protocol, a gold bonus, instead of an ATK Protocol. Their base ATK and set bonus still count, so a full Worker Set is not dead weight.
Why sets beat tiers
A unit's ATK is multiplied by how many different members of its set you own, benched units included: x2 for two, x4 for three, x8 for four and x16 for all five Street units. The Binary Set gives x6 once you own Null and One. Every duplicate copy then adds 0.7x ATK to that unit, or 1x for the two Binary units.
That is why a set comes first. Four C-tier Worker units at x8 outhit four S-tier units from four different sets at x1, before any skill is used. Build complete sets, then use the tiers to choose which set members sit in your six active slots. Our squad guide walks through the sets one by one, and the Cyborg units shows every unit with its skills.
Damage skills compared

How much does each active skill really add? We worked it out from the game code for a player who taps every skill as soon as it is ready. The figures assume six active units with equal ATK, your hero's base attack speed of one attack every 0.75 seconds and the base 4% crit chance, so treat them as a fair comparison rather than exact in-game readings.
| Skill (unit) | What it does | Skill level 1 | Skill level 10 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Heavy Hit (K-9 Sentinel) | An extra hit for 8x damage every 7 seconds | +80% | +273% |
| Ground Slam (Colossus) | An extra 5x hit every 8 seconds, doubled against normal enemies | +89% waves, +42% bosses | +427% waves, +211% bosses |
| Claw Strike (Lycan) | An extra 5x hit every 8 seconds, doubled against bosses | +42% waves, +89% bosses | +169% waves, +342% bosses |
| Rapid Attack (Neko-X) | Double attack speed for 10 attacks, every 6 seconds | +62% | +82% |
| Power Fist (Pando) | Next 5 attacks deal double damage, every 10 seconds | +38% | +139% |
| Sonic Blast (Oni Prime) | Hunter Unit Set ATK +100% for 10 seconds, every 20 seconds | +33% | +108% |
| Powersurge (Jaws) | Jaws' ATK +300% for 10 seconds, every 20 seconds | +25% | +62% |
| Target Lock (Raptor) | +30% crit chance and +100% crit damage for 10 seconds, every 55 seconds | +11% | +38% |
| Full Moon (Null) | Binary Set ATK +100% for 10 seconds, every 40 seconds | +8% | +46% |
| Huge Impact (Grizzly-X) | +50% crit chance for 10 seconds, every 60 seconds | +8% | +12% |
Three things stand out. The three single-hit skills are the strongest by far, and they grow the fastest with skill points. Ground Slam and Claw Strike split the work: one for clearing waves, one for bosses, which are the real walls in Idle Ronin. And set buffs such as Sonic Blast and Full Moon look small at level 1 but scale well, because they lift several units at once.
These gains only count when the skill is used. If you mostly play idle, the always-on passives matter more, and Byte's Automatron is how you get actives to fire on their own for 20 seconds at a time.
The passives that decide late-game damage
Every unit except the Worker units and One has a Protocol passive that raises its own ATK, and they do not grow at the same speed:
| Protocol | Units | At skill level 1 | Per extra level | At level 20 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core Protocol | Street and Bio units | +20% | +10% | +210% |
| Hunter Protocol | Hunter and Titan units | +25% | +15% | +310% |
| Death Code | Null | +25% | +20% | +405% |
A unit earns one skill point per level, which is every 5 upgrades, so over a long run the Hunter and Titan units pull ahead of Street and Bio units with the same investment, and Null pulls ahead of everyone. Guardians add another layer: each one adds 100% ATK per level to its own set, so pick the Guardian that matches your main set.
When each unit joins the Unit Core pool
Unit Cores can only hold units that your highest stage has unlocked. Within a stage band every unit is equally likely, except for the Ghost Unit:
| Your highest stage | Units a core can hold | Chance per core |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 20 | Byte, Jaws, Hopper V, Stallion, Pando, Bastion | 1 in 6 each |
| 21 to 39 | Byte, Echo, K-9 Sentinel, Neko-X, Hopper V, Stallion, Pando, Bastion | 1 in 8 each |
| 40 to 89 | The 8 above plus Jaws, Oni Prime, Lycan, Raptor, Colossus, Grizzly-X, Leviathan and Watchtower | About 1 in 16 each |
| 90 to 124 | Adds Forge, Hauler, Rivet and Welder | About 1 in 20 each |
| 125 and up | Adds Null and One, plus the Ghost Unit | About 1 in 22 each; Ghost Unit 1 in 255 |
From stage 5, the core screen also shows a FEATURED THIS WEEK unit. Every core that is not already that unit has a 12% chance to turn into it, and it is guaranteed within 30 cores. When the featured unit is one you want, that is the week to open your stockpile. Our gacha and pity guide explains how this kind of guarantee works.
The best Idle Ronin team at each stage
- Stages 1 to 20: the four Bio units come first, since a full Bio Unit Set is your first x8. Pando's Power Fist is your best early damage skill.
- Stages 21 to 39: add K-9 Sentinel and Neko-X and build the Street Unit Set toward x8. Heavy Hit becomes your main damage button.
- Stages 40 to 124: the Hunter Unit Set and Titan Set open. Lycan for bosses and Colossus for waves are the stars, Oni Prime lifts the whole Hunter set, and Hunter Protocol outgrows Core Protocol.
- Stage 125 and up: Null and One form the Binary Set, and every core you open is a shot at the Ghost Unit and the x16 Street Unit Set.
Whatever the stage, keep six active units from your two strongest sets and bench the rest. Benched units still count toward their set bonus, and your total ATK at the top of the screen already includes set bonuses, copies and passives, so it is the number to check after every swap.
Idle Ronin tier list FAQ
Who is the best unit in Idle Ronin?
For most of the game, K-9 Sentinel: Heavy Hit is the strongest skill that works against everything. Against bosses Lycan's Claw Strike is better, and late in the game Null and the Ghost Unit pull ahead.
How do I get the Ghost Unit?
It can only come from Unit Cores once your highest stage is 125 or more, at a 1 in 255 chance per core. It is the fifth Street unit, so it doubles the Street Unit Set bonus from x8 to x16.
Are duplicate units useful?
Yes. Each duplicate adds 0.7x ATK to that unit, and 1x for Null and One, so extra copies of your active units are real damage.
Do benched units count for set bonuses?
Yes. The set bonus counts every member you own, so a unit on the bench still powers up its set mates in the six active slots.
